I guess you could say I’m a ‘city girl’ since I grew up just 3 miles from DC. It was a great place to grow up in the 60’s and 70’s. Man was there a lot going on up there during that time. Hippies kept putting washing powder in the fountains causing all sorts of traffic problems when the fountain was in the middle of a ’round about’ I believe they call it. Isn’t that what they call where four roads join into a circle instead of a regular intersection? I think that’s right but I might be wrong. After all, I am getting older and haven’t seen one of those things in years out here in the country.
Anyway, that was innocent fun. Life was innocent and back then my best friend and I could go bike riding all day long on bike trails or catch the bus to whereever we wanted to go shopping. We would spend the whole day gone and without a cell phone at that. Imagine that…………..what a wonderful world it was then. Parents didn’t have to worry about someone picking their kids up and never seeing them again. We didn’t have to worry as much about anything back then. They call what we have now ‘progress’. Well I don’t know who ‘they’ are but they don’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to everyday life. That’s just my opinion.
