My sister lent me a book a year ago that really fascinated me called Shogun by James Clavell, it was the first in a series by Mr. Clavell.  When I was done with the book I was so depressed that it was over, that is when I found out that it was part of a saga and that there were several more books to go.

I’m glad that we have a pretty public library here and that I have a card.  I went on-line to the library’s website and happily learned that they had all of the rest of the series.  It took me over a year to read the whole series and now that I’m done with them all I am really bummed out because there isn’t anymore.  But I did find out that some of the books were made into movies and the library had one of them - Shogun.  It was actually a mini-series that was played on T.V. in the early 80’s, a lot of people I talked to remembered seeing it back then.

I have never once seen a movie that was better than the book and this was no different, but I’m glad that I got to see it even though it was on VHS instead of a DVD.  Hubby had to drag the old VCR out of the basement and hook it up for me to view the movie, it made me appreciate DVDs that is for sure.

Finally got all my W-2’s in the mail and so did my oldest daughter ML.

Last year I didn’t get all of mine until just a few weeks before the deadline of April 15th came around, which of course left me scrambling to get it all done in time, I remember going to Post Office last year on the 15th and the place was packed.  I don’t want that to happen again this year, plus the sooner you get it in the sooner you get your money.

I’m very lucky in that my sister has the computer program that does the taxes and she was nice enough to do mine and ML’s last year, I hope that I can count on her to do them all again this year.  When I take my taxes to a tax company it usually costs me over $200 which is a chunk of change that I could put to use for something else, like bills!

Guess I’ll gather up everything and take it with when we visit my sister over the week-end.
