With all the greed we have seen is business lately from the oil companies to banks and insurance companies, this story warmed my heart.  You see there’s a company outside of Chicago that sold their business.  It was a family owned company called Peer Bearing Co. and had been family owned since 1941. When they sold the company, they gave each employee a bonus check based on their years of service with the company. It was a unanimous family decision to do this. The story read in part:

“Dave Tiderman wondered if the decimal point was in the wrong place when he opened his $35,000 company bonus. Jose Rojas saw his $10,000 check and thought, “That can’t be right.” Valentin Dima watched co-workers breaking down in tears over their bonus checks and didn’t trust his emotions. He drove home first, then opened his envelope: $33,000.”

“They gave out whopping thank-you bonuses. A total of $6.6 million is being shared by just 230 employees of Waukegan-based Peer Bearing Co., with facilities in England and the United States. Amounts varied and were based on years of service.”

Now that’s what businesses used to do. They took care of their employees but in this day in time, all that seems to matter to the owners or CEO’s is their bonus. These are some truly wonderful people to do this. See, there are Angels right here on earth and these people had the privilege to work for a whole family of them. What a wonderful story I think.  God bless this wonderful family.

My sons Harley was stolen the day after Thanksgiving.  Thank God he had good auto insurance or he would still have to pay for something someone else had, his Harley.  He was absolutely heart broken when he saw it was gone.  I’m just thankful that the bike was all they took.  They could have come into his home and stolen everything they had or hurt his family during the break-in.  The bike is easier to replace than his family is.

Besides, I told him that maybe God was trying to tell him that he needs to think more of his family than the bike because that bike could take him away from his young daughters and his wife.  He needs to try and look at this as a blessing because they only took the bike.  It’ll take him a few days but he’ll see it my way.

Shame on me, I forgot all about telling you about our Thanksgiving.  We went to my mothers on the coast.  My husband fished most of the time except for when it was time to eat of course.  It was great to spend the holiday with my parents and my fathers sister too.  She came down for Thanksgiving since both of her daughters live far away and her husband died about 3 years ago.

Of course we had all the usual and it was all so very good.  Mostly because it was cooked with so much love by family since all of us helped cook but the men of course and all they helped do was eat the food and then it was nap time.  Holidays are wonderful times to feel that family love that we all need.  Best of all was the next day!!!!!!!!  We hit all the Black Friday sales and had a blast shopping while the men were fishing.  They didn’t catch a darn thing but we women sure snagged some great bargans.  I hope your holiday was as good as ours was!!!

My husband has taken up hunting again.  He used to hunt a lot when he was younger and now that he’s simi-retired, he’s back hunting.  He needs some new equipment since most of what he has in about 18 years old.  Well I found the Nikon Ultimate Hunter’s Package Promo online and that was just what I was looking for.

First of all, I love to save money and with this package, you’ll save almost $150 so that caught my eye right away.  Then the items in the package deal were just what he needed.  There’s even a DVD that comes with it on Mastering a Long-range shot with BDC so he can learn better how to use all the items.  Check it out, you won’t be disappointed, plus you get a $50 Nikon Pro Gear Gift Card you can use for yourself if you like.

I really think that if there was ever any doubt who should win on Dancing with the Stars, Brooke showed them that it’s her.  She totally nailed it.  Derek is such a great dancer that I think he could take a dog and teach it to dance.  I just really hate that Julianne won’t be returning next year.  She’s absolutely wonderful too.  Lance will have to settle for second just like Joey and I do hope he at least gets second but you never can tell with the peoples votes.  I guess we’ll all have the answers tonight, huh?
