What a shame that Barack Obama’s grandmother passed away before she could see if he will be the next president. I guess she had done all she was put on this earth to do and didn’t need to see anything that happens next. She was 86 years old and had been suffering with cancer for a long time the reports said.
She was one that had a lot to do with raising Barack. Can’t say she did too bad of a job either. My heart felt sympathy goes out to his family for their great loss to their family.
Well it’s about time! The Dow went up almost 900 points. That’s a healthy jump but no one is jumping for joy just yet. They’re all waiting to see if it goes back down and I can’t say as I blame them. Investors are expecting a cut in interest rates when the Federal Reserve announces its decision Wednesday. But they’re also staring into an economic abyss, bracing for a recession of a depth no one knows for sure. It will all change once the election is over and we find out who the next president is.
I used to love fall. It was my favorite time of year growing up but now that I’m allergic to mold, I hate it. When the leaves fall, then get wet, mold builds up in them and I’m totally miserable. Oh sure I’m taking allergy shots but it takes a long time for those to ‘cure’ an allergy. I was told about 3 to 5 years with a 95% cure rate. Well, we shall see, won’t we?
I had to take a double take when I saw that as a headline for a story on msn.foxsport. There was a picture of a 73 year old man playing basketball with college kids. At first I thought maybe he was the coach or something but no, he’s on the team. How amazing is that?
Ken Mink, 73, is a 6-foot, 190-pound newcomer to the Roane State (Tenn.) junior college basketball team about 35 miles west of Knoxville. See, you don’t have to be a kid to be a kid at heart. He’s an inspiration to not only the younger basketball players on the team but also to anyone over 20 I think.
In Ontario Canada, the police pulled over a car because the driver was rather ‘tiny’. That’s when they discovered a 9 year old little girl behind the wheel. It seems her mother had been drinking and told her daughter to drive them home. You have to have a license to drive but not one to be a parent. Maybe they should consider changing those around, ya think?
The story from msnbc.msn read: An Ontario woman was charged with a traffic violation after having her 9-year-old daughter drive her home following a night of drinking.
“The woman was concerned that she was unable to drive having consumed some alcohol at a social function,” police said Thursday. The child was driving the car slowly along country roads in southeastern Ontario on Oct. 12 when police noticed how tiny she was and pulled her over, police said.
