Since we were already talking about insurance, a friend of mine that owns a small business was looking for business insurance and came across a great site. In fact, this site allows you to compare business insurance right there online.  That way, you are sure to get what you need and be able to afford it too.  There’s nothing worse than needing insurance and in order to get what you want, you have to get a lot of insurance you don’t really need.  These guys help you get what you need and some of what you would like to have and know the cost right away.

Well it seems that Bristol, the daughter of the governor of Alaska has given birth.  She had a little boy.  I wonder what Sarah will want the baby to call her?  Some people don’t like being called Grandma because it makes them feel old.  A good friend of mine called her Grandmother Grommy which was short for Grand Mommy.  Isn’t that cute?  I always thought it was but my grand babies call me Ma-Maw.  I like that better.

Hey, maybe Sarah will ask to be called Grandgov.  Get it?  Grandmother Governor?  Surely not!!!!

Well all in all, we had a great Christmas.  The only one that wasn’t home was our oldest.  He’s in Florida working and just couldn’t afford to come home for the holidays.  I totally understand.  Even though gas is at a far more reasonable price now, the economy has taken such a hit from the high gas prices and everything else that there’s little money left.

I know of a lot of people that struggled this Christmas that don’t usually have to do that.  It’s a shame too.  Well this lousy year is almost over and there will be a new president in the White House before long so maybe things will start turning around.  I sure hope so because of so many having it so hard right now.  People that thought they had job security suddenly found themselves without a job.  People that thought they had plenty put back in their 401K’s to live comfortably, suddenly had half as much money as they did last year.  Well that is if they were lucky it was still half as much.  I’m ready for the New Year.

We get out of school early tomorrow and then have the rest of the week off for Thanksgiving holiday.  Boy am I ready for a break or what?  These sixth graders are really something else this year.  I don’t understand it at all.  They are the foulest mouthed of all the sixth graders I have ever taught.  They just don’t seem to have any manners what-so-ever either.

Is it the parents?  Is it the elementary school they came from because most of the worst came from the same elementary school?  I wish I knew what was up with this group so I could maybe put a stop to it with next years group quicker than we have been able to with this group this year.  Yeah, I would say I’m ready for a break.

I read a story from Amsterdam, Netherlands about two Dutch men that were found guilty of injecting 14 people with HIV-AIDS.  Their punishment I think was somewhat of a slap in the face of the 14 victims who have all tested positive for HIV. Peter M., 49, who was also convicted of rape, was sentenced to nine years in prison and Hans J., 39, received a five-year sentence. Under Dutch privacy laws, the surnames of convicted criminals are not released.

That’s it?  That’s all the punishment they received for what should have been attempted murder? But in Wednesday’s ruling, judges said while the victims all had HIV, it could not be proven that they were infected by the injections because they willingly took part in orgies where gay men had unprotected sex.  The suspects were not charged with attempted murder since Dutch courts have held that HIV is a chronic illness rather than an inevitably fatal one.

Okay if HIV is just a chronic illness, then show me one person that has been cured of it then.  Can the judge do that?  Yes this whole thing angers me very deeply because it’s almost like ‘gay bashing’ by the courts to me but that’s just my opinion.
