With all the crazy weather this year, my hubby and I have been thinking about generators and maybe purchasing one. They come in awfully handy if the power goes out from ice storms or those terrible summer storms that have been hitting everywhere.  Besides, we have a camper too and we can use the generator to camp beside my husbands mother in the mountains too.

You really should read this article at http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7517043.stm.  It’s about yet another crazy man hurting another innocent child.  The saddest part of this story is that the man was the 4 year old little girls own father.  Her mother was on ‘holiday’ in Turkey.  Why?  The man had psychiatric medications in his pocket indicating he was under a doctors care for some type of mental problem and still this child’s mother thought it was more important to go on ‘holiday’ than to make sure her daughter was safe.

Children should come first PERIOD!!!  They should even come before your partner at times and especially if your partner is having some type of psychiatric problems.  Medications don’t ‘fix’ what is wrong with you all the time.  Sometimes they make it worse.  This woman should be charged in some capacity along with the father of that precious gift that is laying in a coma in a hospital in Rome.

My neighbor just came to me all upset because her husband has mesothelioma. I honestly had to ask her what that was and was heartsick when she said it was Asbestos Cancer. They have been married for 28 years and have a really good marriage too.  With all the medical advances with cancer, I can only hope and pray that he will survive this.  It’s a shame we couldn’t have figured out that stuff caused cancer before it affected so many people.  They think it came from his job too.

My youngest son is at the age when he’s starting to break out on his face.  Bless his heart it just started this summer and I really want to try and get it cleared up before he goes back to school.  I found an acne treatment cream that came highly recommended by a friend. Seems her daughter used it and it did work wonders on her skin because I remember when she broke out. Well we’ll be trying it to see if it works as good for him as it did for her.

Squash has always been a favorite of mine and I have several different ways to cook it that I have always enjoyed preparing and serving during these hot summer months.  I have a relative that grew up in or around the Boston area that has served us a wonderful squash dish that I ranted and raved so much about she decided to go ahead and share the recipe with me.  I thought that I might pass this rather tasty recipe along for you to try, I hope you like it.

  • 2 lb (6) Cups) Sliced Yellow Summer Squash
  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Onion
  • 1 Can Cream of Chicken soup
  • 1 Cup Sour Cream
  • 1 Cup Shredded Carrots
  • 1 8 oz Herb Seasoned Stove Top Stuffing Mix
  • 1 cup Melted Butter

Boil Squash and onion for 5 minutes and drain. Combine chicken soup and sour cream. Stir in shredded carrots. Fold in squash and onions. Combine stuffing mix and melted butter. Use a 12 x 7 casserole dish. Put half of stuffing on the bottom of the pan, then the squash mixture and top with remaining stuffing. Bake at 350 degree for 25 - 30 minutes or until heated through.   Serves 6
