Reno sounds good but I’m also checking into cruises.  I can see myself stretched out on the deck chairs, soaking up the sun, listening to the water rushing under the cruise ship and enjoying the peace I always feel when I’m on the water.  You know, I think that would do me more good than going to Reno.  Who knows, I just might do both while I have the time off.

How is it that companies come up with the names of their products?  Well they hire a linguist major to look at the syntax, semantics, phonetics and all the other components that make up the names of new products.  Now how neat is that?  I always wondered what kind of job a linguist would be able to get and now I know.  Pretty neat, huh?

I thought they had something to do with teaching kids to speak properly that maybe had a lisp or something like that.  They might do that too but the other job is pretty neat too don’t you think?  You know me, I’m all for education and believe that you can never have enough.  That’s the one thing no one can take away from you.  Well no one but you and your own mind that is.

I have had my laptop for about a year now.  I thought I had plenty of memory when I got it but now I really need to buy memory because I’m running out.  I take my laptop with me everywhere I go now.  I thought I would use it more for school work but I have found that I use it for everything from sorting my recipes to anything else you can imagine.  I’m so glad I found these guys because I can buy more internal memory or one of those neat memory sticks as I call them.  You know, the ones that go into your USB port.  Pretty neat and awfully handy.

I have to take a leave of absence for about a month until my sister gets better and can take care of herself.  I sure hope they are able to get a good substitute for me while I’m gone.  I know the children will have a hard time adjusting to me when I come back but it just can’t be helped.  Family has to come first sometimes.

I have high hopes for this coming school year.  I just learned that our school system, system wide met 89% of our educational goals last year.  That was a rise of over 24% from the prior year.  Wonderful.  That means that we have done a much better job of teaching our children and future leaders.  That’s what every teacher wants to know, that they have made a difference and have done a good job educating our children.

People think it’s easy to be a teacher with all the workdays we have and the summer off on top of that.  Well when there is a teacher work day, that’s what we are doing, working to find better ways to reach the children in the most need.  On our summers off, most of us are attending classes or workshops or both to learn better techniques to teach your children.  So the next time you want to complain about a teacher work day being an inconvenience to you, think of that and you might appreciate the hard work educators do for your family.
